Post COVID Planning, Coordination, and Support

COVID-19 tested many of our for-profit, nonprofit, and government agencies. There are significant challenges in unemployment, homelessness, income disparity, production, and human services. As your delegate, I will be looking at the issues facing our various communities with a holistic approach in order to tackle inequalities. I will engage our business community, increase access to resources for our citizens, and invest in programs that provide support to individuals who are most in need.

Results-Driven Education Investment

Education is the number one predictor of upward mobility in our country. It is critical that we focus our energy and resources on assuring access to quality education for all our citizens. I pledge to support student focused investment in the State's 'Blueprint for all Maryland Students' that will provide programs and opportunities to optimize outcomes.

Accessible Healthcare for All

Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right of our society. As a state legislator, I will seek out ways to cut costs for medical treatment, increase preventive medicine measures, and fight for affordable prescription drug pricing. Additionally, we need to do everything we can to protect women's reproductive rights. Frederick citizens need to know that when they seek treatment, their doctors and insurance companies will do everything they can to provide quality, positive results.

Behavioral Health Support

Prior to the pandemic it was clear that behavioral health, especially mental health, was in critical demand. The pandemic has exacerbated this crisis. We need to comprehensively review the resources available to people struggling with their mental health. The continuum of care needs to look at preventive strategies, emergency access, and long-term care options providing the best hope our most vulnerable populations.

Social and Economic Justice

Social and Economic progress cannot exist without addressing the systemic causes of disenfranchisement, income inequality, and racism. At the state house, we must invest in minority owned businesses. We must remove barriers to funding, housing, and opportunity for upward mobility. We must make it possible for more people, not less to vote. We must support those organizations working throughout the state to help marginalized and disenfranchised communities.
